Jeff, This is my first intarsia piece that I made in Jim's class. I enjoyed this and may try making a few more. This one is rather large 44mm X 39mm. I'll try making the next one a little less manly.

Very nice I've been wanting to try it but I haven't been brave enough.

Here's my second attempt at intarsia. Opal, almandine, obsidian, chrysoprase, and sodalite. The garnet corners didn't show up like I had hoped and there's still some technical errors. Maybe I'll get better.

Put another one together today. Rutilated quartz, citrine and apache gold. It's not polished but will be on both sides.

Since I'm a mineral collector at heart, I wanted to do an intarsia piece that represented Graves Mtn. I cut the lazulite and rutile into the shape of their respective crystals and then bordered it with quartzite that has pyrite and lazulite. The big problem with this piece is that I used broken rutile crystals with fractures and of course they show up dramatically. I just couldn't bring myself to cut up my nice rutile crystals. I'll clear coat and maybe it will hold together.

Just about finished with another intarsia piece. Georgia agates and jasper- Summerville agate centerpiece surrounded by Savannah River agate with an outside border of Mary Hill Jasper.

Spent the last 3 days cranking out this piece. Fire agate center stone, black obsidian, malachite corners, agatized dinosaur bone, "Arizona malachite" So far this is my favorite.

Fantastic work...Great job on the matching of stones (colors) and flatness of matching pieces.
